Last week I and a colleague attended the Midlands Regional Trainers’ Forum at the Mid Staffordshire Postgraduate Medical Centre. The presentations for the day can be found here. A particular highlight for me was to give the final report on our survey that demonstrated the impact of information skills training. Someone suggested adding a question on the type of training (e.g. literature searching or critical appraisal) which the steering group will consider. Other interesting presentations included the RIDLS criteria, a toolkit to help trainers ensure that their training is of the highest standard. When I return to a training role I will consider using it.
